A baby boy in New Zealand was born this week, tipping the scales at 16lbs 4oz, making him the biggest baby born in 2017 so far.
At more than double the weight of a typical new born, the boy was born via c-section, and it took doctors over 3 hours to administer the epidural because the mother couldn’t bend. You’ll be happy to know the big little guy is “happy and healthy”!
The Guinness Book of World Record holder for biggest baby was a baby born in 1879 in Ohio, weighing in at 22lbs.
Congrats to the family, and wishing the mama a quick recovery, OUCH!
