Yes you read that right! A gay couple…who just so happen to be Vultures at a Zoo in Amsterdam, have welcomed their first child together after hatching an abandoned egg!!!
THIS MIGHT BE THE CUTEST STORY OF ALLLLLLLLLLLLL TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME!!! *heavy emotional breaths* ok ok maybe just the cutest of the weekend!!!! (At least give me that).
The cutie couple of Griffon Vultures were given the abandoned egg by their caretaker Job Van Tol who told the BBC, they had been trying to start a family for years!
“We have had them for some years. They always build a nest together, bond and mate together, but as two males, the one thing they could not do was lay an egg.”
Here comes the sad story turned super happy story, when an egg was abandoned at the Zoo the Zoo Keepers knew immediately they had to give the couple a shot and placed the egg in their nest.
“It was a bit of a risk as we had no guarantees of success, we thought, finally, this is their chance.”
*cue Kim Kardashian cry face*
And just when you thought this story couldn’t get any sweeter…this is actually the 2nd healthy baby Vulture the Zoo has recently hatched AND they plan to release both of the birds when they are old enough and able to take care of themselves into the wild. *clutches chest, wipes single tear*.
