WEATHER: Today is the last day of Toronto’s mini heat wave. Today’s high is 28 but it’ll feel like 30 with the humidity. Colder air moves in tonight with some showers. Tomorrow we’re back to more seasonal temperatures with a high of 22.
Toronto’s health board says recreational pot should be treated like tobacco in public places and alcohol in cars. The board says weed should be banned where smoking is banned and like booze, it shouldn’t be allowed in vehicles. They agree the minimum age to buy marijuana should be set at 19.
If you plan on riding a bike this summer, please wear a helmet. That’s the plea from Peel Regional Police after a 17-year-old fell off her bike in Brampton and suffered life threatening head injuries. She was not wearing any head protection at the time.
If you plan on boozing it up this Canada Day, you might want to stock up now. Premier Kathleen Wynne is hopeful a deal can be reached between LCBO workers and OPSEU so Ontarians can toast the nation’s 150th birthday on Canada Day. LCBO workers will be a legal strike position on June 26th.
Bill Cosby’s fate is now in the hands of the jury. They deliberated for four hours last night and they’re back at it again this morning. Cosby is accused of drugging and violating Toronto woman Andrea Constand in 2004. Cosby is charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault and, if convicted, could face the rest of his life in prison.
