I’ve been lucky enough to live in many cities and towns because of my career, and I’ve seen some beautiful things. I was born and raised in Toronto, and now I’ve come full circle moving back to my ‘home’ I left for the first time over 20 years ago.
I first lived in Fergus, where I got to experience the Scottish Highland Games. I also spent over a decade in Waterloo, where I worked the Kitchener/ Waterloo Oktoberfest every year. Just outside of there, is a huge Mennonite community, so seeing the horses & buggies were always a trip.
The smallest town I ever lived in was Wingham, Ontario, which is about an hour north, of London, Ont. I even lived right on the Trans Canada Highway for a year, when I worked in the Nickel City… Sudbury, Ontario… which actually made me feel really connected with all of Canada.
I lived in beautiful Barrie, in North Bay (home of the shad flies)… lots of beautiful places, with so many interesting historical facts! Unfortunately, I never had the chance to work in any other province, but I’m hoping to visit both coasts one day.
But right here… right in Toronto is where the most action happens. I love the cultural diversity, the fact that there’s always something going on SOMEWHERE. I love that I have extended family here.
And I love playing awesome music and working at 93-5 The Move.
Happy Canada Day, eh.
