If you know one thing about me it’s that I love my sweatpants and wine. Ok maybe that’s 2 things combined. Hmmm…anyway, if you were to know 3 things about me the 3rd would be that I LOVE TMZ and treat it as my news. I don’t “report” anything in Blake’s Take unless I’ve read it confirmed on TMZ first. (And yes I know you scoffed as you read over the word “report”).
SO…to get to the point…and to quit dragging this out with little pieces that don’t matter…TMZ is reporting BEY and JAY have named their twins…
RUMI and SIR CARTER.
What? Who? Why? How? Pardon?
I’ll let TMZ explain:
“We know that because the company run by Bey and Jay that owns the trademarks to their names filed legal docs Monday, June 26 — right around the time the twins went home — to secure rights to the names Rumi Carter and Sir Carter.
The docs are filed by the same company that filed for a Blue Ivy trademark earlier this year.
The name Rumi appears to be an homage to a 13th century Persian poet by that name — and Sir happens to be referenced in one of his most famous poems:
“Bring the pure wine of
love and freedom.
But sir, a tornado is coming.
More wine, we’ll teach this storm
A thing or two about whirling.”
The trademarks are for fragrances, cosmetics, key chains, baby teething rings, strollers, mugs, water bottles, hair ribbons, playing cards, tote bags, sports balls, rattles and novelty items.
Short story … Rumi and Sir are about to become part of the Carter empire.
So there you have it…little Rumi and Sir. TBH I’m all about Rumi. Sir. I’m just kinda meh with. But hey, not my babies. I just think with your first kid being names BLUE IVY…you kinda gotta bring the big guns for the next kids. Sir is like everyone’s name. “Sir could I please get a table”, “Sir could you please bring me my drink”. “Sir I asked for a double and can clearly taste this is a single”, “Sir…” you get it.
Anyway CONGRATS…on…naming your spawn? That works.
