Most people want to be buried beside their loved one when they die. But not Hugh Hefner!
The Playboy Magazine founder died this past Wednesday and when he is laid to rest it will be at the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in the plot beside Marilyn Monroe. He bought the spot twenty five years ago for $75,000 USD.
Back in 2000 Hugh said: “Jay Leno suggested that if I was going to spend that kind of money, I should actually be on top of her. But to me there’s something rather poetic in the fact that we’ll be buried in the same place. And that cemetery also has other meanings and connections for me. Friends like Buddy Rich and Mel Torme are buried there. So is Dorothy Stratten.”
Marilyn Monroe graced the cover of the first ever issue of Playboy and was truly Hugh’s original muse.
