Yesterday was kind of a good news / bad news day for JOHNNY DEPP.
First of all, reports surfaced that Disney is still developing a sixth “Pirates of the Caribbean” . . . even though the last one, “Dead Men Tell No Tales”, was by far the worst performer of the franchise. It didn’t do very well critically, either.
But as long as Johnny gets paid up front, he’s not gonna care, is he?
Then came the bad news: “City of Lies”, his movie about the BIGGIE and TUPAC murders, has been pulled from theaters just a month before it was supposed to be released.
Officially, there’s no word why, but the “Hollywood Reporter” is suggesting that all the bad press Johnny’s been getting lately would, quote, “make any publicity campaign tough.”
Warner Brothers isn’t worried, though. They’re still planning to release “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” in November.
